C-Train crash that killed man likely involved alcohol, police say

Calgary police believe alcohol was likely involved in a C-Train crash that killed a pedestrian on Sunday night.

Calgary police say alcohol was likely involved in aC-Train crash thatkilled a pedestrian on Sunday night.

Police say three men walked across the tracks near 36 Street N.E. at around 7:30 p.m.

Two of them made it tothe other sidebut the southbound train struckthe third pedestrian, killing the49-year-old man.

One person on the train suffered minor injuries, but was not takento hospital.

Police say the flashing lights and bells thatsignalan approachingC-Train appear to have been working at the time.

They don't expect to lay any chargesagainst the driver.
