Drumheller RCMP say 4 missing siblings located 'safe and unharmed'

Four siblings who were reported missing in Drumheller, Alta., have been located, according to police.

Mounties wanted to ensure kids' well-being but said they were never worried about foul play

Hours after issuing a release on the missing children, Drumheller RCMP said the siblings were found safe and sound. (CBC)

Four siblings who were reported missing in Drumheller, Alta., have been located, police say.

"They are all safe and unharmed and the public is thanked for their co-operation in this investigation," Mounties said in a statement Thursday afternoon.

Earlier in the day, RCMPhad issued a release asking the public for help in locatingthe children, whowere initially reported missing by their motheron Aug. 31, when it is believed they ran away.

Cpl. Laurel Scott saidpolice wanted to ensure the well-being of the children but were "not concerned" about foul play.

In an earlier version of this story, the children had been identified, but their names and photos have now been removed to protect their privacy.
