E-cigarette ban in Calgary recommended by city committee

A city hall committee has endorsed a ban on e-cigarettes in public places. If city council approves the recommendation, vaping would be banned in all the places where tobacco smoking is not allowed.

A city hall committee has endorsed a ban on e-cigarettes in public places.

If city council approves the recommendation,vaping would be banned in all the places where tobacco smoking is not allowed.

The suggested fines are $100 to $200.

The committee recommendation also asks the mayor to send a letter to Alberta'shealth ministerfor a provincial e-cigarette strategy.

The ban still has to be voted on by city council later this month.
