A known drug house in northwest Calgary that was the site of three fentanyl overdoses, one of them fatal, has been shut down by police.

Officers have been called to the house in the 200 block of Edgepark Way N.W. almost 40 times since last December, police said in a release.

The person renting the house had subleased rooms within it, according to Const. Benazir Bawal, a community resource officer for the area.

"There was significant drug activity within the home that led to a number of reports from community members," he said.

Three fentanyl overdoses happened in the home between December 2016 and May 2017. There was one fatal suspected fentanyl overdose at the end of May, police said.

"With cooperation from the property owner, the subleases were terminated and all individuals were lawfully evicted on June 2, 2017," said Const. Bawal.

Police say anyone who sees drug activity or has information about people involved in drug activity should call the Calgary police drug tip line at403-428-8100or email todrugtips@calgarypolice.ca.
