Court date for Edward Downey, accused of killing Taliyah Marsman and Sara Baillie, postponed to Aug. 24

A court appearance for Edward Downey, who is charged with first-degree murder in the deaths of Sara Baillie and her five-year-old daughter Taliyah Marsman, has been put over until Aug. 24.

A court appearance for Edward Downey, who is charged with first-degree murder in the deaths of Sara Baillie and her five-year-old daughter Taliyah Marsman, has been put over until Aug. 24.

Downeywas charged after the child's body was found on a rural property east ofChestermereon July 14.

Her mother was found dead in their Panorama Hills basementsuite earlier that week.

Court documents show Downey has a lengthy criminal history that began in 1989 and involvesmostly pimping, drug trafficking and weapons offences.
