Fargo TV filming to force Alberta highway detours

Rural Albertans driving along Highway 566 on Wednesday will find several closures as the TV series Fargo resumes filming after a break during the recent cold weather.

Rural Albertans driving along Highway 566 on Wednesday will find several closures as the TV series Fargo resumes filming after a break during the recent cold weather.

Highway 566 northeast of Calgarywill see a number of lane and speed reductions.

Traffic will be restricted to a single lane of alternating traffic between Range Road 282 and Range Road 284 from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m.

Speed limits in the work zone will be reduced to 50 km/h.

Both eastbound and westbound Highway 566 between Highway 791 and Range Road 284 will be closed from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m.Traffic will be detoured via Range Road 284, Highway 564 and Highway 791.

To access eastbound Highway 566, drivers can also turn off Highway 2 at Highway 567 or Highway 564 to follow Highway 791 to meet up with eastbound Highway 566.

To access westbound Highway 566, motorists may also turn off Highway 9 at Highway 567 or Highway 564 and follow Range Road 284 to meet up with westbound Highway 566.

Despite the closures, access for emergency vehicles, local traffic, school buses and oversized or high-load vehicles through the area will not be impeded.
