Fire ban lifted for Thanksgiving weekend

The Calgary FIre Department has lifted its level 3 fire ban ahead of the Thanksgiving long weekend.

Wet weather and lower temperatures reduce risk

The Calgary Fire Department has lifted itslevel 3 fire ban ahead of the Thanksgiving long weekend.

The ban was issued on Oct.4 due to seasonal foliage and several weeks of dry weather, which increased the risk of fires around the city.

With recent moisture and lower temperatures, the fire risk has decreased. The fire department thankedCalgarians for co-operating over the past week.

Although the ban is lifted, fire bans might still be in effect in other jurisdictions and the fire department is asking people travelling out of town for the weekend to respect any bans in those areas.
