Firefighters rescue man injured while pruning tree

Emergency crews were called to the northwest community of Highland Park Tuesday afternoon after a man was injured while pruning a tree.

Emergency crews were called to the northwest community of Highland Park Tuesdayafternoon after a man was injured while pruning a tree.

The man was working about 40 feet off the ground in the 3600 block of First Street N.W. when the incident happened.

Firefightersused their high-angle apparatus to get the man safely out of the tree.

EMS says the man, who's in his early 30s, was taken to the Peter Lougheed Hospital with a shoulder injury.

Occupational Health and Safety has been advised of the workplace incident.
