'Significant' drug seizure in Fort Macleod

Five people are facing charges after RCMP in Fort Macleod, 32 kilometres west of Lethbridge, seized a "significant" amount of drugs as well as weapons and cash on Friday morning.

Five people are facing charges afterRCMPin Fort Macleodseized a "significant" amount of drugs as well as weapons and cashon Friday morning.

While executing a search warrant at a home on 26thStreet and Fourth Avenue, police found 88 grams of cocaine, 65 grams of crack cocaine andseven grams of marijuana.

Police in the town 32 kilometres west of Lethbridgesaid the street value of the drugs is approximately $15,000.

In addition to the drugs, RCMP seized $1,000 cash,two rifles, one prohibited firearm, a machete and a knife.

One man and two women from Fort Macleod and one man and one woman from Calgary all face several charges.
