A five-year-old girl is in hospitalafter falling from a third-storey window.

The child fell at about 9:30 p.m. Tuesday nightin the southeast Calgary neighbourhood of Cranston.

Emergency workerssaythe child first landed on a wooden table and then rolled on to a cement landing.She was in stable condition with soft tissue injuries.

Paramedics arereminding parents to install safety devices that restrict how widely a window can be opened and to never underestimate a child's ability to climb.
