Police are searching for a man who may have drowned in Banff National Park.

On Saturday at 7 p.m., Lake Louise RCMP, Parks Canada and the Lake Louise Fire Department responded to the North Saskatchewan River along Glacier Lake Trail, after a report a man had fallen into the river and been swept away by the current.

The man had been hiking with two other people when the group stopped for photos along the river, RCMP said.

He hasn't been found, and the search operation has been ongoing since last night, RCMP said.

Glacier Lake Trail is a 17-kilometre trail, located about 75 kilometres northwest of Lake Louise.
