The men responsible for a home invasion in Springbank Hill early Tuesday morning fit the same description as the suspects in a second home invasion a few hours later in Mayland Heights, police say.

At least two menbroke in anddemanded money from the victim before striking him with an object and taking offwith money and personal property, police say.

One person was injured and was treated by EMS at the scene.

The first suspect isblack, in his mid-20s, approximately five feet nine inchestall, with a slim build, a goatee and a moustache. He was wearing a grey hoodie and blue jeans.

A second suspect is described as male, approximately six feettall, wearing a red and black hoodie.

Police were called to the scene of a second home invasion in Mayland Heights at about 2:50 a.m.

Two men forced their way into a home on the 600 block of 19th Street N.E., demanded cash and injured two victims, police say.

One victim was taken to hospital with serious stab wounds and the other suffered minor injuries.

Police say the suspect descriptions in the second incident seem to match those in the first. It's not believed the attacks were random, but investigators are still trying to determine what motivated them.

"Investigators are working to confirm if the two are in fact related, and if the suspects are the same people responsible for both incidents," police said in a release.
