Calgary police investigating after man found dead inside apartment early Saturday morning

The Calgary Police Serviceis investigatinga death that happened early Saturday morning in the Mayland Heights area.

Around 2:30 a.m., policewere called to an apartment buildingin the 1800 block of 14th AvenueNEfor reports of a disturbance in one of the units.

Responding officers found a man dead inside theapartment, police say.

The man's death is considered suspicious and an autopsy will be scheduled, police say.

If the autopsy finds the death was a homicide, this would be Calgary's fourth homicide in 10 days.

"This has been an extremely busy week for our service," Staff Sgt. Martin Schiavettasaid in a news release, adding that homicide investigations are complex and require help from multiple police units, such as forensics.

No suspect descriptions are available yet. Policeare reviewing evidence, including CCTV and witness statements, to determine the series of events that led to the man's death.
