Airdrie RCMP investigating after trailer found with human remains inside

RCMP are investigating after a trailer was found just north of Calgary with human remains inside.

Airdrie RCMP have released photos of thetrailer foundnortheast of the Calgary city limits.

RCMP say they received a report that a utility trailer on Township Road 252 and Range Road 283 had been abandoned.

When a tow truck was called, female human remains were found inside and police were notified, RCMP say.

The RCMP major crimes unit has taken over the investigation, with the help of RCMP forensic identification services and Airdrie RCMP.

An autopsy is scheduled for this week.

RCMP are looking for people who may have information about the trailer or have seen the trailer in Calgary or surrounding areas, and those who may have dash-cam footage in the area of Township 252 and Range Road 283 between Sept. 24 and Sept. 27.
