Injured grizzly bear evades capture in Kananaskis Country
Conservation officers, dog handler searched Tuesday but the bear got away
An injured grizzly bear with a history of causing property damagein Kananaskis Country slipped pastconservation officers Tuesday.
Park officials are now warninghunters to remain vigilant after reopeninga closed section of the Kananaskis Trail.
The bear was spotted in a section of the Elbow-Sheep Wildland Provincial Park between Evan-Thomas day use area and Little Elbow Campground.
Conservation officers, including a dog handler, respondedbut the bear got ahead of them, said Jill Sawyer with Alberta Environment and Parks.
Sawyer said hunters are being warned because thearea is a popular hunting location.
