Justice for Jackie walk remembers victim of 17th Ave stabbing rampage

Family and friends gathered Saturday afternoon in Calgary to remember a woman killed in the 2007 stabbing rampage on 17th Avenue.

Jackie Crazy Bull was the only victim killed in the rampage, during which police say suspects used a ruse to lure four other people into conversation before attacking them. She died of a single stab wound.

While police initially released video surveillance from a nearby Mac's Convenience Store, they did not identifythe men in the video as suspects,and so far, no one has been charged in her killing.

"It's been very torturous," said Sandra Manyfeathers-O'Hara, Crazy Bull's sister. "We want to continue to show that we're still here, we're still seeking justice and we would really like to have the people that know something come forward."

Crazy Bull had children and her sister says it has been hard for the family to console them while trying to heal from her killing.

The Justice for Jackie Walk started at Second Street and 18th Avenue S.W. and ended at 17th Avenue S.W. and 11th Street, where Crazy Bull was stabbed.

Organizers say the annual event also honours the more than 600 missing and murdered aboriginal women across Canada.
