Earlier this year, the Prentice government said spending would stop on the golf course; however, Wildrose MLA and chair of the public accounts committee Derek Fildebrandt says the NDP government acknowledges it will spend $1 million on the contract this year.

"We think it's important for the former ministers to explain themselveswhy their statements in the past do not seem to jive with the facts we have now in the present," saidFildebrandt."And so we're going to be inviting them to speak before the public accounts committee."

The golf course, which has been closed since it was heavily damaged by floodwaters in 2013,is now being repaired.
