The Calgary Drop-In Centre's board of directors has re-elected Ken Uzeloc as chair after going through what Uzeloc describes as a year of turmoil.

Allegations of bullying and harassment of staff by senior managers led to the resignation of the executive director in March.

Uzeloc says there are two priorities for the next year.

"To make sure we get an executive director that is going to fit with what we are looking for and help the organization," Uzeloc said.

"I think it's also about finishing off construction that's going on on the Centre 4800 building to get people housed. [We're] looking for that to open in the fall of 2019."

Uzeloc says the board is looking at bringing in four new board members to fill vacancies and one resignation, and that keeping him on would be helpful.

"I think it makes sense for the organization in this transition period to have some continuity while we look for a new executive director."
