Kent Hehr wants to be Calgary Centre MP

Calgary Liberal MLA Kent Hehr wants to make the leap to federal politics. Hehr has announced he will seek the federal Liberal nomination for the riding of Calgary Centre with an eye on the 2015 federal election.

Last Liberal to be elected in Calgary was in 1968

Calgary LiberalMLA Kent Hehr wants to make the leap to federal politics.

Hehrannounced he will seek the federal Liberal nomination for the riding of Calgary Centre with an eye on the 2015 federal election.

Ive served the people of Calgary-Buffalo in the Alberta Legislature for almost two terms now and I truly love this community, saidHehr in astatement. My heart is here, I know the issues in the community very well and Im eager to build on this connection in a new role."

The federal riding overlaps with Hehr`s provincial riding.

I understand the issues of the people who live, work and play in Calgary Centre.Im out there talking to people every day and I know their concerns, said Hehr.

The Calgary Centre riding is currently held by Joan Crockatt. She won the seat for the Conservatives in 2012 in a federalbyelection.

The last Liberal to be elected in Calgary was Patrick Mahoney in 1968.
