3 charged in $1.2M drug bust, largest in Lethbridge history

Lethbridge police have charged three people after more than $1 million in drugs, firearms and cash was seized in what police are calling the city's largest everdrug seizure.

The investigation by the Alberta Law Enforcement Response Team (ALERT)began in December 2016 following a tip about suspected drug dealers in theLethbridgearea.

On Feb. 11, Police stopped a vehiclejust outside the city on Highway 3, apparently returning from British Columbia and carrying four kilograms of cannabis resin hidden in the car. This led to warrants being issued for four houses.

The drugs seized have an estimated street value of $1.2 million and include:

• 8,054 ecstasy pills.
• 546 grams of cocaine.
• 305 grams of methamphetamine.
• 20.9 kilograms of marijuana.
• 4.5 kilograms of cannabis resin.
• 9 kilograms of psilocybin mushrooms.
• 1,605 tabs of LSD.
• 1,575 Xanax pills.

Four firearms, four vehicles and cashwere also seized.

Three people have been charged with 23 offences so far.

• Drew Boake, 27 is charged with eight counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking and possession of proceeds of crime.
• Alexander Herbert, 29, is charged with 10 counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking and possession of proceeds of crime.
• Katlyn Robinson, 23 is charged with two counts possession for the purpose of trafficking and possession of proceeds of crime.

All three remain in custody and are scheduled to appear in court on Feb. 15.
