Livia Starlight, accused of murdering her toddler, granted bail

A Tsuut'ina woman accused of murdering her two-year-old son was released on bail today. Livia Starlight will be under a 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. curfew.

A Tsuut'ina mother who is accused of murdering her toddler was granted bail today.

Livia Starlight, 29, was releasedby a Calgary judge this morningon $30,000 cash bail.

Starlightwill be under a 10 p.m.-to-6 a.m. curfew andis not allowed to drink alcohol or consume drugs.

She must live with her grandfather and can not be around children unless their parents or guardians are present.

Traezlin Denzel Starlight, 2, was admitted to hospital with injuries onSept.18, 2014,and died one week later.

His mother was arrested on July 31 and charged with second-degree murder.

Today, Crown prosecutorPhotini Papadatouconsented to Starlight's release.

A publication ban protects some of the details of the case.

A trial date will be set on Friday.
