18-year-old woman charged with manslaughter following suspicious death investigation

An 18-year-old woman has been charged with one count of manslaughter after homicide investigators determined thedeath of a man in the community of Rundle was the result of a fatal assault.

Calgary police have charged one woman in connectionwith what they called asuspicious deathin the city's northeast over the weekend.

An 18-year-old woman has been charged with one count of manslaughter afterhomicide investigators determined that a man'sdeath was the result of a fatal assault.

Shortly after midnighton Sunday,police were called to the 100 block of Rundleson Way N.E.for reports that a man had been assaulted.

Upon arrival,first responders located a man who appeared to be severely injuredand, despite life-saving efforts, the man died of his injuries at the scene.

An autopsy is scheduled to take place at 9 a.m. on Tuesday. Police did not confirm the man's age or identity.

The accused is scheduled to appear in court on Monday, Oct. 31.
