Seriously injured man pulled from burnt car on Stoney Trail in northeast Calgary

A man was sent to hospital in serious condition after being pulled from a car that had been on fire in northeast Calgary early Wednesday morning, paramedics tell CBC News.

Vehicle was travelling eastbound just before Deerfoot Trail exit at 3:20 a.m.

A man has been sent to hospital in serious condition after being pulled from a car that had been on fire in northeast Calgary early Wednesday morning, paramedics tell CBC News.

"Around 3:20 a.m. EMS, police and fire responded for reports of a motor vehicle collision involving a single vehicle along eastbound Stoney Trail, just before the Deerfoot Trail exit," EMS spokesperson Stuart Brideaux said.

"Paramedics subsequently transported the man to the Foothills hospital in serious and potentially life-threatening condition with injuries sustained as a result of that incident."

There were no other vehicles or motorists involved and police and fire officials are investigating.
