Man wanted in Memorial Drive crash that killed woman, critically injured another

Arrest warrants have been issued for a Calgary man facing numerous charges over a crash on Memorial Drive on July 2 that killed one woman and sent another to hospital in critical condition.

An arrest warrant has been issued for a Calgary man facingnumerous chargesover a crash on Memorial Drive on July 2 that killed one woman and sent another to hospital in critical condition.

Police say excessive speed and alcohol were factors in the collision, which happenedat about 3a.m. on July 2.

The Ford Fusion hit the raised centre median at 5A St. N.W., rolled onto the driver's side and then onto the roof.

The car slid across both eastbound lanes of Memorial and off the road and came to a rest wrapped around a tree.

A 30-year-old woman who was in the front passenger seat died at the scene.

A 32-year-old woman in the back seat was taken to hospital in critical, life-threatening condition.

She is still in hospital.

The 38-year-old driver was also taken to hospital with serious injuries.

DaleNeisz,38, ischarged with:

  • Criminal negligence causing death.
  • Criminal negligence causing bodily harm.
  • Impaired driving causing death.
  • Impaired driving causing bodily harm.
  • Operating a vehicle with a blood alcohol level exceeding 80mg% (.08) causing death.
  • Operating a vehicle with a blood alcohol level exceeding 81mg% (.08), causing injury.

Police said Wednesday that warrants have been issued for Neisz's arrest.
