Two Calgary brothers have admitted to kidnapping and repeatedly rapinga 17-year-old girl.

Corey and Cody Manyshots' week-long trial was supposed to begin today but each pleaded guilty at the last minute to sexual assault, kidnapping, robbery and uttering threats.

The facts of the case were described as "horrific" by the Crown prosecutor.

"This is probably one of the worst cases I've ever seen in terms of what people can do to each other. It's just despicable," said Jonathan Hak.

The victim was waiting for a bus in Taradale in November 2014 around 11:30p.m. after watching movies with a friend.

According to an agreed statement of facts read aloud in court today, the brothers approached her, forced her into an alley, smashed her head on a garage and the ground, and took turns sexually assaultingher.

They also smashed her phone and emptied some of the contents of her purse.

The pair threatened to kill her if she didn't do as they ordered and marched her to their home in the neighbouring community of Martindale.

The brothers' father and a friend were in the home, as well as Corey's baby and the child's mother.

The sexual assaults continued overnight in different rooms of the home.

Around8 a.mthe next morning, the girl was able to escape while others in the home were sleeping.

She took a bus and C-train home where she broke down at the front door, telling her mother what had happened.

The victim and her mother went to the police station and gave a statement to police. She was then able to guide officers to the two locations where the assaults took place.

Investigators found some of her personal items, like her sock and wallet, in both the alley and the Manyshots' home.

During her medical exam later in the day, the girl was found to have black eyes, bruising and cuts on parts of her body and tearing consistent with sexual assault.

The teen was eventually able to identify both Corey and Cody from two separate photo lineups.

Today, she was at court with a contingent of friends and family. The group was kept in a separate room with Hawk, the Calgary Police Service trauma dog for support.

The guilty pleas saved not just the courts time but the victim from having to relive her experience through her testimony.

"She is one of the sweetest girls I've ever met," said Hak.

Both brothers have criminal histories. Their lawyers have said they expect lengthy sentences.

Pre-sentence reports have been ordered for both brothers. Corey's lawyer said after the guilty plea that his client suffers from schizophrenia while Cody's lawyer said in court that his client has fetal alcohol syndrome.
