Man shot early Sunday morning at northeast Calgary park

Police are investigating what led to an early Sunday morning shooting at a park in the northeast community of Martindale.

He is in non-life-threatening condition, EMS says

A man is in non-life-threatening condition after being shot at a northeast park early Sunday morning, police said.

The shooting took place shortly after 1 a.m. at Martindale Park, police said.

When police arrived, they found the man in serious condition.

EMS spokesman Adam Loria said emergency crews arrived to transport the man to hospital, who was in serious condition.

However, Loria said the man's condition was not life-threatening.

There was no update on the man's condition as of 8:30a.m. Sunday.

There is no indication at this time whether or not the shooting was targeted, police said.

Police said they had a number of leads and that the investigation was ongoing.
