The family of a young woman discovered her body in her northeast Calgary home on Monday, up to three days after she was killed in what police are calling adomestic homicide.

Brittney Ann Meszaros, 24, was found in the home in Marlborough that she shared with her common-law partner, Alexander Moskaluk.

Moskaluk, 23, now faces a charge of manslaughter.

After they hadn't heard from Meszaros for several days, her family went to her home to check on her, finding her body.

Moskaluk was also in the home, in medical distress, and was taken to hospital in serious condition.

He has since been released into police custody.

Police say they aren't aware of a domestic violence history between the couple.

Moskaluk will appear in court on Friday.
