Police are asking for tips from the public as they investigate a suspicious motorhome fire west of Calgary.

Police are asking for tips from the public as they investigate a suspicious motorhome fire west of Calgary.

Cochrane RCMP were called to a location just off Highway 1 near Highway 40 early Monday morningwhere they found a partially burned motorhome.

A man who had escaped the fire said he was awoken in the middle of the night to find that his vehicle had been set on fire. There were reports of an explosion in the area.

The 32-year-old Red Deer man was taken to hospitalwith unknown injuries, RCMP said.

Officers searched for suspects with help from the police dog team and a Calgary Police Service HAWCS helicopter.
