Calgary police release new information on the death of a six-year-old Calgary girl.

Calgary police say the injuries of a six-year-old girl sustained last November were not consistent with what family members claimed when they said she fell down a flight of stairs.

In November 2011, officers were called to a homeon Temple Drive N.E. following reports of a child with undetermined injuries.

Meika Jordan was taken to hospital where shedied the nextday.

The death was laterdeclared a homicidewhen an autopsy discovered she died from multiple blunt force trauma.

Police now say they believe Meika may have received other injuries prior to her death, including a severe burn to the palm of her hand and fingers.

All the injuries occurred while she was in the sole care of her biological father and her stepmother, accordingto police.

Authorities say the couple is not co-operating with the investigation.
