Nick Lush disappearance and assault west of Calgary possibly linked

City police and RCMP are asking for help in locating a Calgary man they believe may have been the victim of an assault.

City police andRCMP are asking for help in locating a Calgary man they believe may have been the victim of an assault.

Nick Lush hasn't been seen since early Sunday morning near Cochrane.

RCMP positively identified the human remains found in the Longview area as that of Nick Lush, 32, was last seen on March 29. Two men have been charged with second-degree murder in the case. (RCMP)

Several hours after his disappearance, there was a report of an assault happening at an underpass on the Trans-Canada Highway in the Jumping Pound area about 40 kilometres west of the city.

By the time officers arrived, the victim and the assailants had disappeared, said Cochrane RCMP Sgt. Jeff Campbell.

"A bystander had interrupted an assault that was going on at that location," he said."It appeared that a serious assault did take place at that scene and we believe that these two are linked."

Family of Nick Lush concerned

Campbell says investigators are tracking Lush's cellphone and credit cards. Lush is described as white, five feet two inches tall and140 pounds with brown eyes and hair. He has a "flaming"tattooon his left arm, a "demon skull" tattoo on his right arm and "scroll scribble" tattoo on his stomach, with various other tattoos on his hands.

He was last seen wearing a Sons of Anarchy T-shirt, green camouflage spring jacket, blue jeans and black DC running shoes.

"Nick's family is incredibly concerned for his well-being," said Sgt. Jeff Campbell of the Cochrane RCMP."We encourage anyone who knows anything about Nick's disappearance to come forward. Any piece of information, no matter how small, can really help."

Investigators are also looking for a 2008grey four-doorDodge Chargerwith Alberta plateBDY1907 thought to be connected to the case.
