Panorama Hills shooting under investigation

One man is in hospital after a shooting in northwest Calgary late Tuesday night.

Police do not believe it was a random attack

A man in his early 20sis in hospital after a shooting in the northwest Calgary community of Panorama Hillslate Tuesday night.

Police say the man was shot shortly after arriving home inthe 0 to 100 block of Panamount Heights around11 p.m. MT.

"Upon exiting his vehicle, he was approached by an unknown male who spoke with him briefly before shooting him," said police in a release.

The victim was able to enter his home, where his family called 911.

A member of his family tried to take him to hospital, but apolice cruiserstopped the vehicleand EMS then transported the victimto hospital, where he is listed in serious but stable condition.

Police do not believe it was a random attack.

"The suspect is described as a black male dressed in black. He was driving an older model gold or champagne Acura RDX or Lexus RX350," police said.

The investigation is ongoing, and is being led by the police's guns and gangs unit.
