Parks Canada introduces new option for campers seeking comfort

Parks Canada now offers a more comfortable camping option for those who don't want to sleep on the ground.

The oTENTik is a cross between a wooden A-frame cabin and a prospector's tent. They are available at several parks across Alberta, including Banff, Jasper and Kootenay. You will also find it at Two Jack Lake campground.

"They sleep six, they have two queen size beds and a double bed, and all of the ones in Banff National Park are heated," said Judy Glowinski of Parks Canada. "We have electricity, we have heating and lighting."

People still need to bring their own bedding, camp cooking equipment and supplies.

The units cost $120 per night.
