Pedestrian killed in Deerfoot Trail hit and run

A pedestrian is dead after an early morning hit and run in southeast Calgary Sunday.

Police responded to Deerfoot Trail near 130th Avenue S.E. at about 3 a.m.

A 21-year-old man received head injuries and died at the scene.

Deerfoot Trail was closed for several hours for the investigation.

Police believe the man was struck by a sports utility vehicle (SUV) that continued southbound.
