Driver in life-threatening condition after car crashes through fence in Douglasdale

The 39-year-old man driving the SUV was not wearing his seatbelt and was ejected from the vehicle, sufferingserious, life-threatening injuries as a result of the collision.

Calgary police are seeking witnesses in regards to a serious injury collision that occurred Sunday night in Douglasdale.

A blue Chevrolet SUV was travelling westbound on 130th Avenue S.E.at an excessive speed when it left the road at about 10 p.m. Sunday, police said.

It continued up the inclined boulevard toward the rear property fences of Douglas Ridge Circle S.E.

According to police, the SUV broke through the back fence, passing through several bushes, a garden shedand a fencebefore striking a wooden deck attached to the back of a home and becoming airborne.

The vehicle then struck two large trees, which brought it to a stop.

The 39-year-old man driving the SUV was not wearing his seatbelt and was ejected from the vehicle, sufferingserious, life-threatening injuries as a result of the collision, police said.
