Police identify victim of year's second homicide

Calgary police have identified a man whose body parts were found in a trash bin late last week.

Calgary police have identified a man whose body parts were found in a trash bin late last week.

Police say Calgary resident Chad Johnathan Largy, 22, was the city's second murder victim of the year.

Police were called to the 3500 block of 14A Street SW Friday morning when someone looking for bottles in a dumpster discovered a body part in a garbage bag.

Investigators have not said what part of the body was found, but have confirmed the case is considered a homicide.

Police have conducted what they call an "extensive" search of garbage bins, and they are still scouring the area, trying to find any more of Largy's remains. An autopsy will be conducted later this week.

Anyone who say Largy between Wednesday, Jan. 18 and Friday, Jan. 20 is asked to call police to assist in the investigation. Largy was last seen at a friend's residence in Bankview.
