Calgary man wanted for kidnapping, robbery arrested in B.C.

A 27-year-old Calgary man wanted in connection with a string of domestic-related charges including kidnapping and robbery has been arrested in British Columbia, police say.

A 27-year-old Calgary man wanted in connection with astring of domestic-related charges including kidnapping and robbery has beenarrested in British Columbia, police say.

A domestic incident occurred at a residence in the southeast community of Riverbendlast week, Calgary police said in a release.

On July 23, a Calgary man assaulted a woman he was in a relationship with, robbed her, and then forced her and her roommate into a vehicle belonging to someone else in the residence before driving away, police say.

He then drove the pair from Riverbend to Lincoln Park before telling them to get out of the vehicle and driving away.

The woman was left with minor injuries while the roommate was not injured, police said.

Christopher Andrew Munro was arrested on Mondayby RCMP officers from the detachment in Creston, B.C.

He has been charged with two counts of kidnapping, two counts of uttering threats, and one count each of intimidation, robbery, motor vehicle theft and theft under $5,000.

He is also charged in other unrelated incidents, police said in a release.He will be returnedto Alberta to face thecharges.
