2nd-degree murder charge laid in connection to death of woman at northeast Calgary hotel

Police have laid charges in relation to the homicide of a woman who was found dead earlier this week at a northeast Calgary hotel.

Police have laid charges in relation to the homicide of a woman who was found dead earlier this week at a northeast Calgary hotel.

Sharilyn Shelley Ann Gagnon, 33, was found dead in one of the rooms at the Airport Traveller's Inn on Tuesday evening when police were called to the hotel for reports of a disturbance.

According to a release, a Calgary man arrested for the homicide has officially been charged with second-degree murder.

Vladimir Ngbangbo Soki, 29,will next appear in court on March 29.

Soki also faces aggravated assault charges in relation to a serious assault of another man.

"Our detectives continue to investigate and believe this was a targeted attack and that it was domestic in nature," Staff Sgt.Martin Schiavetta said in a release.
