Alberta Health Services says people to should avoid uncookedshellfish.

The announcement follows dozens of illnesses connected to eatingraw oysters from British Columbia.

The Public Health Agency of Canada says 19 people have fallen illin Alberta and another 48 have become sick in B.C.from bacteria thatoccur naturally in oceans.

The bacteria are often found in higher concentrations during thesummer months when water temperatures rise.
