RCMP cruisers robbed of ammunition, pepper spray at Airdrie hotel

Mounties from British Columbia helping with the Fort McMurray wildfire are trying to recover missing items after their cruisers were robbed in southern Alberta while on their way home.

Mounties from British Columbiahelpingwith the Fort McMurray wildfirearetrying to recover missing itemsincluding pepper spray and ammunition after their cruisers were broken into in southern Alberta while on their way home.

The officers were staying at the Airdrie Ramada Inn, with their vehiclesin the hotel's parking lot, when the theft took placesometime between Tuesday night and Wednesday morning.

The twoRCMPvehicleswere also vandalized in the process.

The equipment stolen includes:

  • Ammunition magazines with 9-mmbullets
  • Pepper spray
  • Handcuffs
  • RCMP uniform pants, shirts and baseball caps
  • Shoulder flash, duty belt and Leatherman pocket multi-tool
