Red Deer RCMP issue warning about high-risk sex offender

Red Deer RCMP have put out a warningaboutahigh-riskviolent sex offender who may be in the area.

Dean Zimmerman, 47, is wanted on Canada-wide warrants for breaching theconditions of release.

He was released earlier this year.

Zimmerman has been convicted of several violent crimes, including sexual assault in 1998 and sexual assault with a weapon and forcible confinement in 2006.

RCMP also want people in Red Deer to keep an eye out for himbecause they say there is a high risk he couldreoffend.

"We want to warn the public because we do consider him to be dangerous especially to women," saidCpl. Sarah Knelsen.
