Atom Egoyan presents new film at CIFF
Remember tells the story of a retired man's quest for vengeance after 70 years
Atom Egoyan hopes Calgarians get a lasting impression from his new movie Remember, a dark thriller getting mixedreviews since its premiere in Toronto.
In an interview on the Homestretch, the famous Canadiandirector told host Doug Dirks thatcritics don'treally matter anymore.
"My last movie, The Captive,had uniformlyterrible reviews and it did better then any films I've ever released in this country," he said pointing to sucessful advertising throughword of mouth.
The film stars two legendary actors: Christopher Plummeras Zevand Martin Landau as Max.
Zev suffers fromdementia, andMax guides him to fulfill a promise he made many years ago to avenge the death of his family while heloseshis memory
The quest brings him tomany small villages in the U.S. and Canada.
The film premiers at the Calgary International Film Festival Tuesday, withEgoyanin attendance at the Globe Cinema at 7:30 p.m. MT.There's an encore presentationat Eau Claire on Sunday, Oct.4,at 2p.m.
