Alberta meat thief sought after making off with 'substantial amount' of frozen food

Mounties in Rimbey, Alta., are still looking for a camouflage-clad suspect who they say broke into an auction house and stole a "substantial amount" of frozen meat on May 28.

Mounties in Rimbey, Alta., are still looking for a camouflage-clad suspect who they say broke into an auction house and stole a "substantial amount" of frozen meat on May 28.

RCMP released a photo of the suspect on Tuesday, more than five weeks after the theft, in an attempt to rustle up any information from the public that may help them crack the cold case.

The suspect was caught on a security camera entering the Vold, Jones & VoldAuction Company in Rimbey in the early morning hours of May 28, according to police.

He was wearing a camo coat andblue jeans at the time, and was recorded entering and leaving the auction house multiple times as he hauled out load after load of frozen meat.

The suspect may be associated with amotorhome that was spotted in the alley north of the auction house at the time, but RCMP said that is "not confirmed."

Police are also investigating whether the case is connected to anotherbreak and enter at the nearby RimbeyAgrimCentre around the same time.
