Dashcam footage and witnesses sought after young man fatally shot and dropped at hospital

Police wantto find dashcam footage and witnesses including two semi-truck drivers to help solve the killing of a young manwith fatal gunshot wounds who was dropped off at a northeast Calgary hospital in mid-October.

Police wantto find dashcam footage and witnesses including two semi-truck drivers to help solve the killing of a young man who was dropped off at a northeast Calgary hospital in mid-October with fatal gunshot wounds.

Safar Ali Safari was left at the Peter Lougheed Centre in northeast Calgary on the night of Oct. 16 andpronounced dead at the hospital.

Investigators believe he was with a group in multiple vehicles who were in the area of 84 Street and McKnight Boulevard N.E.when a gun was discharged.

Three semi-trucks drove through the area between 8:15 p.m. and 8:50 p.m. on Oct. 16, police said in a release Thursday. One semi driver has been identified, but police want to speak to the other two drivers.

Police also want to speak with a witness who drove up to the area around the time of the shooting, according to CCTVfootage.

The witness's vehicle stopped beside two other vehicles, including a silver Volkswagen Jetta that had visible damage and may have spoken to those involved, police said.

When vehicles carrying those involved left the area, the witness did a U-turn and followed, police said.

Police believe other vehicles in the area at the timeincludea silver Dodge Ram truck and a black Lexus IS250, among others.
