A new discount clothing storehas moved into Alberta's largest cities.
Saks Fifth Avenue's Off 5th opened Wednesday in CrossIron Mills shopping centre, just north of Calgary. Edmonton also saw the opening of a storeThursday in South Edmonton Common.
A crowd was waiting outside the Calgary store's doors, hoping for deals on designer duds among the 800 brands carried by the discount chain.
Shopper Susan Awomodu shopped at the same store in Las Vegas and wanted to see what she could find in the new Calgary store.
"It's good prices and the staff are so unique," she said.
Calgary is slated to get a Saks Fifth Avenue in Chinook Centre by January 2018. It will be a 115,000-square-foot luxury retail store and the only onein Canada outside of Toronto.
