A man is dead after the car he was drivingflipped and rolled down two cliffs in northwest Calgary late Saturday.

Calgary police said they were called to the scene of Sarcee Trail N.W. north of Stoney Trail at about11:40 p.m. on Saturday, where they found the man, who was the sole occupant of the vehicle, dead.

The factors that led to the crash are unclear at this time, police said in an interview Sunday, adding that investigators are still trying to figure out whether drugs, alcohol, or speed were involved.

The section of Sarcee Trail where the car went off the road is elevatedabove the Home Depot parking lot, meaning the car fell down two cliffs of about 20 metres each before rolling down the hill, police said.

Policeblocked off the scene to traffic while investigators worked, but the area has since been re-opened.The identity of the man who died has not been released.
