Calgary mother Seema Minhas missing for week found dead

A mother from the northeast Calgary community of Coral Springs who had been sought by friends and family since last Thursday has been found dead.

A missing Calgary woman was found dead on Wednesday, say police.

Samarjit(Seema) KaurMinhas, 30, was last seen on Thursday in the northeast community of Coral Springs.

Police said the death is not considered suspicious, and no more details would be released.

Friends and family had earlier expressedconcerned for her wellbeing after she failed to pick up her daughter from a sleepover.

Colleen Ryan, the principal at thedaughter's school, also taught Minhaswhen she was in junior high. The principal told CBCNews earlier Wednesday that Minhaswas supposed to drop off her daughter at school, but the Grade 3 student never showed up.

Ryan said this was "extremely" out of character for Minhas.

Minhas'shusband died suddenly last December, leaving her the sole provider for her daughter.

Minhas, who struggled with health issues that left her unable to work consistently,went public to urge people to do what she and her husband failed to do in time: consider getting life insurance.
