Trans-Canada Highway near Lake Louise sees traffic delays after semi jackknifes

Traffic backed up eastbound on the Trans-Canada Highway today after a semi-trailer truck jackknifed just east of the Lake Louise turnoff.

Traffic backed up eastbound on the Trans-Canada Highwayafter a semi-trailer truck jackknifed Thursday morning justeast of the Lake Louise turnoff.

One driver reported to CBC the backup of trucks waiting wasabout two kilometres long.

The highway reopened at noon.

Alberta 511 reports it happened near the Temple Lookout.

It says some drivers were rerouted to Highway 1A, but expects others could have been delayed up to three hours.

511 says the Trans-Canada Highway is snow covered and the shoulders have snow and ice.
