John Daly to play in Calgary's Shaw Charity Classic

John Daly has confirmed he'll play in Calgary's ShawCharity Classic in September.

Daly, a PGA Tour Champions rookie having turned 50 in April, is atwo-time major champion and winner of five career PGA tournaments.

He's famous for his length off the tee. Daly was the first tourpro to average over 300 yards in driving distance over a season in1997.

Daly is also known for his tumultuous personal life and struggleswith addictions chronicled in his memoir,My Life in and Out of theRough.

He's entered five PGA Tour Champions events in 2016 with his bestresult a tie for 15th at the Regions Tradition in May.

The $2.35-million US Shaw Charity Classic is Sept. 2-4 at CanyonMeadows Golf and Country Club.
