Marlborough shooting kills 1 person in northeast Calgary

A neighbour says he heard three shots ring out in the shooting that left one person dead in the northeast Calgary neighbourhood of Marlborough.

Calgary police say that a shooting in Marlborough that left one person dead does not appear to be random.

The call came in around 6:30 p.m. for the incident on MaryvaleDrive N.E.

The homicide unitwas called in and an autopsy has been scheduled for today.

Sabah Matti, a neighbour, said he heard three shots ring out.

"I don't know nothing, I heard the shots, that's it," he said, adding it's not the first time he hasseen something like this in his seven years living in the area.

He said a half-hourbefore the shooting he was walking right by the house.

Police are talking to witnesses and looking for a suspect who fled the scene.
