Charge of threatening Sophie Grgoire Trudeau withdrawn against Lethbridge woman

A charge of uttering threats online against Sophie Grgoire Trudeau, wife of Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, has been withdrawn against a Lethbridge, Alta. woman.

The charge was related to posts last month making threats against wife of the prime minister

A charge of uttering threats online against Sophie Grgoire Trudeau, wife of Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, has been withdrawn against a Lethbridge, Alta., woman.

Lisa Seymour-Peters, 49, was arrested by the RCMP's Integrated National Security Enforcement Team based in Alberta after threats were made against the Canadian government in online posts on May 11.

Seymour-Peters also entered into a peace bond relating to a second charge.

This isn't the first time police have made an arrest based on online threats against the Trudeau family.

In February, 41-year-old Christopher Hayes of Grayson, Sask., was found guilty of uttering threats for two posts referring to the prime minister.
